Starting at the Miradouro do Jardim do Morro is to appreciate Porto in all its glory and understand how it expanded along the river and conquered the solid rocky hills.
Sung by Rui Veloso in the words of Carlos Tê, "Quem te vê ao vir da Ponte, és cascata Sanjoanina."
The Luis I Bridge is the ultimate symbol of this city and the most photographed of all our bridges.
Without a doubt, this surprising structure inaugurated in 1886 came to facilitate access and boost trade.
But for us, its arched curvature, and individually made metal pieces for a perfect fit, represent the resilience,
ingenuity, and fighting spirit of the people of Porto.
When everyone said it was impossible to build such a bridge, we accepted the challenge.
Crossing the upper deck admiring the landscape, seeing the difference in urban space occupation between
the two sides of the bridge and the traditional boats in the river, and we are launched for our amazing tour.
It's easy to talk about structures, but how do we characterize these fighting, hardworking,
and welcoming people, who have always received all travelers throughout the centuries?
Stories of bishops and hierarchies of guilds and brotherhoods, rivalries and unions is part of what we will talk about around the cathedral.
Walking down through a part of the medieval quarter, crossing to the surprising Jewish quarter
and the vibrant Clérigos neighborhood with its tower and the well-known Livraria Lello.
Then, we will visit Avenida dos Aliados and the famous São Bento Station that is so well-known for its 20,000 tiles.
The walk to the Palácio da Bolsa will be through Rua das Flores, the first public street in the Invicta City (yes, you read correctly!).
We will take a private guided tour of the Palace, avoiding lines and crowds in large groups.
Finally, we will visit the lively Ribeira neighborhood, where you’ll start the cruise through the 6 bridges,
admiring the beautiful Invicta city in a quiet and relaxed way, to finish this experience in the best way!
